Under the general guidance and support of academic staff and the Scottish Water Analytics Team, the Associate will lead the development of analytical tools and predictive models for water quality for Scottish Water.

The successful candidate will interact with scientists from OpenAnalytics customers in order to devise and implement analysis methods tailored to novel experiments and perform data analyses on challenging datasets.

The role would suit a highly motivated individual with a broad statistical knowledge and the desire to develop and apply new and existing skills to help our clients make the best use of their data.

As a member of the research team, the Researcher will undertake research, conduct literature reviews and draft journal articles as directed by the Lead Investigator on the Second Australian Study of Health and Relationships (ASHR2).

Under supervision by more senior members of staff, you will provide data analysis and investigation, reporting of results, and statistical advice, across the complete range of our clients and contracts.

In this position you will support association analyses for large scale datasets. These could include genome-wide association studies or resequencing studies, or risk modelling for verified discoveries, with a particular focus on cardiovascular and respiratory traits.

The new Biometrician will join an existing small team in delivering effective statistical and analytical support. Having the ability to think analytically when working with a diversity of problems, you will be able to diagnose and develop solutions and carry these through to implementation.

The work involves mostly applying appropriate statistical techniques to identify and develop better cultivars faster, residue-free methods of pest and disease control, more sustainable and profitable systems, proprietary foods with premium prices, and premium quality seafood with minimal environmental impact.
